Jeremy Hunter, PhD. Principal |
|
The founding principles of CoreWorks are rooted in methods Hunter developed working with working executives at the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito School of Management for over a decade. Deeply influenced by management philosopher Peter F. Drucker, Jeremy created The Practice of Self-Management and The Executive Mind, a series of pioneering, challenging and transformative executive education practices and programs dedicated to managing oneself. His courses were among the first to introduce mindfulness practice, a rigorous form of mental discipline, attention training and emotional management, in a management context. They draw on neuroscience, psychology, the arts and centuries of human wisdom.
The programs are organized around the needs of working executives. They are designed to improve not only executive's effectiveness and productivity, but the quality of their professional and personal lives. He was twice voted Professor of the Year.
Jeremy's work is informed by his life experience of living with a supposedly terminal illness for 17 years. When told he needed life-saving surgery, more than a dozen of his former students came forward as organ donors. He received a new kidney from one of them in December of 2008.
Jeremy received his Ph.D. from University of Chicago, an M.P.P. from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Wittenberg University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He was a co-founder of the Quality of Life Research Center with Mihaly Csikzentmihalyi. He has also received a parallel education in Asian contemplative disciplines, which he has practiced and studied for over two decades.
He is co-founder of CoreWorks Consulting based in Los Angeles, California. |
